Hi I'm Bill

I am a traveling food snob. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two and a husband to a wife who I adore. I love spending time with my family, snowboarding, sailing, or travelling. I love to eat out and to cook. I love music. I am a project manager for a design-build firm, but I do a lousy job managing projects on my own house.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the majority of my life. It has brought me much joy that I am sure that I would not otherwise have known. By studying the teachings of the church I was not only able grow closer to my Father in Heaven, but it helped me to become more like Christ. As a young man starting high school I was faced with several decisions on who I was. I had good friends that were doing things that I knew where not in line with my standards, but I also had good friends who had high standards that urged me to find a different path to draw close to the Savior. Ultimately, I turned to prayer and the Book of Mormon for help. I had read parts of the Book of Mormon growing up and knew what it was about, but I hadn't gained a testimony of its truthfulness. I had also been counseled that if I would read and pray about it I would know if it was true. I did just that. Over the course of a year I read and studied the book and was left with an overwhelming feeling that it was true. During that year I also learned more about the Savior and his role in the plan of salvation than ever before. At that point I knew I was where the Lord wanted me to be.

How I live my faith

I hope to live my faith in everything I do. I strive to follow the example that our savior left us. I was a missionary for 2 years in Mexico and have held various other callings within the church. We are all asked to serve, it is how we become more Christlike. As my children grow I hope that I live in a manner that helps them have a desire to follow Christ.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Bill
We absolutely believe the bible to be the word of God. The old testament prophesies of the coming of Christ and his mission on earth. The new testament gives us unique details of life and ministry. Together the Bible and the Book of Mormon help us more fully understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
