Hi I'm Julia

I am Canadian and I will someday be a teacher. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to read, to find a story that inspires or that you have to solve. I love the power of the written word and how it can change your perspective. I also love Math and Science. I am going to be a High School teacher. Teaching Math and Physics. Math is the Language of the universe, and Physics is its explanation. I completed a Bachelors degree and now am finishing my teachers certification. I love to swim, to hike, to be outdoors in the sunshine, and maybe sometimes in light rain. I have found that although I think it is beautiful, I really don't like snow. It is so Cold... Burrrr! I love children and will someday have a wonderfully large family. My family is so very important to me and regardless of anything else they will always come first in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was bone in to this church. My parents joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, just before they got married and I have always been taught the beliefs that they learned about. Why I'm a Mormon is because I have had the personal opportunity to discover how strong it has made me. I have gone through many experiences that have caused me to question my faith. Those times when I needed to find out if my faith, and what my church believed, were sufficient for the problems or struggles that I was having. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the beliefs and teachings have never let me down. It has always provided the answers that I have needed. I have taken the time to search many other faiths. Attending there services, discussing beliefs with their pastors or leaders, or even just watching the actions of their members. I know that so many different beliefs help people to be good God loving people. I believe, however, that being a Mormon has brought me closer to God than any of the other religions that I have experienced. I am a Mormon because I choose to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday in my actions. I pray, I study scripture, I choose to try my best to live as Christ would have me live. I fail often, but always I try to do my best. I am the leader of our children's organization in our area called the Primary. The Primary is where all children 18 months to 12 years old come to learn. Every Sunday I am responsible to teach 25 little children more about a God that loves them. There are many that help me accomplish this fact and support me in so many ways. I plan lessons and activities that will hopefully show these children, not only that God loves them, but also that I love them. I want them to learn the tools, skills, and lessons needed to solve any problem that they may have to face when they grow up. I also work with our congregation leaders to help plan and participate on other activities that helps strengthen and enrich families. Dances, to work activities to so many other things, where there is something fun to do so that the family can stay strong together.

What is faith?

Faith is Action! People think of faith as something that they have or as something that is. I think, and have experienced, that faith is something that we are required to do. They who know the truth are not equal to those who love it, and they who love it are not equal to those who live it. -- Cervantes that is from memory. To know God exists is great, to know that he loves us and to love Him is even better, to do as he asks and live as he would have us live is what I believe Faith is. Knowing who God is, is knowledge. Believing that he has the power to make your life better, is just belief. Doing what he has taught in scripture and living by his guidelines is Faith. Show more Show less
