Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite things are reading, traveling, visiting museums, freelance writing and spending time with my family. I am married with two young children. I have worked professionally as a newspaper reporter and public relations coordinator.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors have been Mormon for more than five generations. This is the Church I have grown up in my whole life. I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I also know this is where I need to be, and I know that this is Jesus Christ's restored Church. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith one day at-a-time and one principle at-a-time. I like my volunteer work in public affairs for the Church on a local level. It keeps me grounded in my professional field, and it keeps my skills sharp as I've been a stay-at-home for a few years. I volunteer in my children's school and in local town service projects as often as I can.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, we are open to helping anyone in need as reflected by the Church's humanitarian service efforts all over the world. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is to find joy! God doesn't want us to be lonely or miserable. He wants us to live up to the measure of our creation through living Christ-centered principles and by having a family. Show more Show less
