Hi I'm Amy

I'm a mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college about 2 years ago and I'm now a first grade teacher. I grew up moving around a lot. My mom is from England and my dad was in the American Air Force. I love all of the places I got to live. I was born in England, and then I moved around the world to California, Alaska, and Germany. I learned to love a lot of different things from different places I lived. Some of the things I enjoy doing are being in nature, ice skating, cross country skiing, anything with art, reading, yoga, and music.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a mormon, and always loved the good feeling it brought into my home. Overtime, I came to realize on my own why I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so much. It brings direction and peace into my life. Being a mormon helps me understand that I am a child of God and that God loves me more than I can comprehend. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior. I'm so grateful he suffered and died for me so that I can become more like God and one day live with God again. The Church is guided by a prophet who speaks with God and counsels us on how to live our lives. I'm grateful to know that I can have my family for eternity. Everything the church teaches is good and brings me closer to God.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday for 3 hours. At church we have three meetings. We have a one hour meeting where we take the Sacrament to remember Christ's atonement. Also during this hour, members of the congregation get up and speak about church teachings. The second hour we study the scriptures. The third hour we meet together an learn of church teachings and how we can better live them. I also attend a meeting once a week with young single adults (ages 18-31), called institute. At institute I get to learn more about the church and meet people my own age. It's really fun. I also spend time serving those in the church and the community.
