Hi I'm Brad

I'm a father of seven, a business owner, and a Mormon.

About Me

My seven children fill my time and my heart. I love spending time with them and watching them succeed and find happiness in doing right. I also own a computer sales/repair/consulting business. I currently serve as a Branch President and enjoy finding quite moments where I can ponder and reflect.

Why I am a Mormon

After growing up in a single parent home and watching my mother struggle with raising two kids and succumbing to alcoholism, I knew there had to be a better way to live life. In my mind, religion was a way to improve. However, after visiting many churches I was disappointed and looked elsewhere. Still not able to find what I was looking for, I met someone who was LDS. We began to date and she introduced me to the church. At first, I was skeptical because of what I already experienced with other churches, but my eyes were quickly opened when I saw what type of lives the Mormons lived. I glimpsed what I had been searching for and began meeting with the missionaries. Now, looking back, I only wish that I had found the church sooner.

How I live my faith

I joined the church and was able to serve a full-time (2 year) mission to Montreal, Canada. I knew if I didn't go, I'd always be playing catch up to everyone else. After returning, I met my wife and we we're married in the Temple. We now have seven children who bless and test us daily. We also serve faithfully in the church and are always looking for ways to lift others and share our beliefs with others.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Despite the Church's Official Answer to this question, it seems people still don't believe that we believe in the Bible. That's funny, because we spent a full hour every Sunday of last year 2010 studying the Old Testament. This year we are studying the New Testament in Sunday School. We only give the Book of Mormon 1 year out of every four, and the Bible 2 out of every four. Man, we sure do spend a lot of time studying a book that we don't believe in! It's just silly! We have to stop believing everything we hear and seek answers diligently and humbly. Your pastors will not give you straight answers on Mormonism. Why? They are not taught straight answers in their pastor schools. Come and see for yourself why this is the great American religion. We love the Bible and carry it with us everywhere we carry the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Wow, this is such a volatile topic when it comes up! When the gospel has been on the earth, there has always been a prophet, sometimes many prophets, leading the way and guiding the faithful to safety and prosperity. We claim that God has, once again, established His church on the earth. It seems preposterous to some that a prophet is necessary in a day of so much information and technology. Prophets are just too old-school for our time now. I beg to differ. These men talk with, and receive inspiration directly from Him whose world this is. The prophets of today fit remarkably well in our time and speak clearly and without reservation about what God wants us to be doing. It's really quite fantastic. Show more Show less
