Hi I'm Trevor

I am from Montana. I love learning about the sciences, playing sports, and being outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in western Montana, which gave me a love for the great outdoors. Because of this upbringing, I now enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and almost anything that involves being outside. Growing up, my dad was a mechanic. Due to this, I also love tinkering with and fixing things. Currently I am studying geology at a university. I love learning about the sciences and how this great world that God created for us works. I was married recently, and my wife and I are enjoying learning to adjust and work together to do what will be best for our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ when I was 8 years old, but unfortunately had never really took the time and effort myself to find out if this was the right choice. I began a serious study of the Book of Mormon when I was about 18 years old, and began to feel the love of God in my life. With time, I prayed and knew that the Book of Mormon was the word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. As I applied the truths taught in the stories of this book to my own life, I began to grow closer to God. My love for my family, neighbors, and fellow-man also grew. I decided that I wanted to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others so I served a 2-year proselyting mission for my Heavenly Father. In time I came to know by that same power of the Holy Spirit that Joseph Smith was the Prophet of God who translated the Book of Mormon. I continue to share the sweet truths of the gospel with others because I continue to pray, to study the Book of Mormon and other scriptures such as the Bible, and I feel the love of God in greater and greater abundance. I know that God lives and that He loves each of His children. I now know that anyone who seriously reads and prays about the Book of Mormon will come to know of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a secretary in our local Church ward. This means that I work closely with our local leader, the Bishop, to organize appointments and agendas. Together, we prayerfully identify people in our ward that may just need to know they are loved, or have other needs. It has been a touching experience to feel God touch others' loves through my work. My wife and I also often visit a woman in our community who is very disabled from a serious car accident she was in at age 20. She has a hard time expressing her thoughts in words, but my beloved wife and I have grown to love her and can understand her quite well. We go there to brighten her day, but she always brightens ours in return. I also visit two families each month to check up on them, and see how they are doing. Another member of the ward goes with me and we always be sure to share a message from the scriptures or words of living prophets. This has been a wonderful way to find out the needs of our brothers and sisters, and has helped us to grow our love for them.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Trevor
I absolutely know that families can, happily, be together forever. Often I look at myself and my own inadequacies and wonder, "why would my wife ever want to be with me for eternity!" Then I realize that in time, we will become better and better. I will overcome the weaknesses I now see in myself and become the father and husband my children and wife need. Heavenly Father has perfect joy with his eternal family, and He wants us to as well. Show more Show less
