Hi I'm Darian

I'm a swimmer and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 children in my family. I love to do things outside, especially swimming. I played water polo and did competitive swimming for awhile. I also love to play volleyball. I've gone to a little more than a year of college and I really have no idea yet what I want to do. I am thinking about majoring in Economics and then maybe going into Optometry. I also love to go Scuba diving, and I would really like to get a job doing that, but not as a full-time career.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of this Church because I know that it makes me happy and I have seen how following the commandments of God has blessed me and my family. Although it is hard at times and there are many temptations that bombard me every day, I have felt the love of my Savior for me and I know that He is there to give me strength. The Book of Mormon has also been an essential key to my conversion. After reading it I knew that I should go on a mission and that the Lord had prepared me to serve His children. I love to serve others and hope to continue to be able to strengthen my testimony through reading the Book of Mormon and prayer.

How I live my faith

I try to learn all that I can from my friends and family and love them the best that I can. I read the word of God every day and do my best to pray and talk with my Father in Heaven! I'm not perfect, but I try every day to repent for my sins and love God. I also look for opportunities to serve in the community and also just helping anyone out that I meet. I am so grateful for the time that I have been given here on this earth and also for my wonderful family! I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ is the Savior and that if we follow Him it will lead to true happiness.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Darian
Joseph Smith was the prophet who restored the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. It began in 1820 when at the age of 14 he prayed to know what church was true and saw God and Jesus Christ in a vision. They told him that none of the churches were true on the earth and that many precious truths had been lost over the centuries since Christ and the Apostles deaths. Through divine guidance, Joseph Smith was led to an ancient record of scripture called the Book of Mormon, which is a record of the people who lived in the Americas about 2000 years ago and their dealings with Jesus Christ. Through the power of God, Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon from the ancient language that they used into English. Most importantly, Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the priesthood authority to baptize and perform miracles that had been lost over time. He was called to be the first Prophet in the modern days. This knowledge has been something that has truly blessed my life and it has helped me so much to know that Christ's church with His authority is again on the earth. Show more Show less
