Hi I'm Rick!

I grew up in Canada, performed in live theatre and I AM a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Canada and am now enjoying life on the east coast. I am and advocate of the ski slopes and in the summer enjoy swimming and long bike trips on road bikes. I have 3 siblings and live in a small community where everyone knows everyone. I recently moved to a suburb of Philadelphia seeking to serve the people there. In Canada, I worked for a number of years as a lifeguard and as a performer. I have been involved in several productions including Seussical the Musical, Bye Bye Birdie, Guys and Dolls, Grease and Beautiy and the Beast. I traveled various areas of Europe for educational purposes and love the Latin culture. Get to togethers with friends and family are my favorite past time memories and the future holds hopefully a career in Chemistry or Perfoming Arts. I have a secret love for string instruments and a undying desire to learn how to excell in many forms of dance. Salsa, Jive, Swing, Tap YOU NAME IT!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but that is not the reason why I am a member of it. About three years ago I was challenged in my beliefs and realized I needed to know for sure if Mormonism was true, and my answer needed to come from God. Over several months of fasting, praying and reading the Book of Mormon the Lord blessed me with a undelying witness from the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon and the faith it upholds is true. I shortly after gained addition insight and testimony from the spirit on principals of the gospel like the purpose of life. My new found testimony changed my desicion making, my goals, my motivation my faith in my savior Jesus Christ and so on. In short, my testimony of the Book of Mormon changed my LIFE. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith as a missionary on the east coast. I have spent the last two years as a missionary in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In a few short months, however, I will return to my home church in Canada and will hopefully be given an assignment to help the church in the singles congregation. I spend each day seeking service oppertunities and people that I can share the gospel with. I am blessed to be given much time to study the scriptures and find in them answers to questions, particularily in the Book of Mormon and New Testiment. I spend my time trying to do what God wants me to do in helping His children learn about the gospel. On Sundays I attend church here in Maryland and renew the promises I made to God when I was baptized. Occassionally I am asked there to teach a class or to bear my testimony, both of which I love doing very very much. I live my life a day at a time, looking to do what I know is right, improving and repenting. I LOVE IT!!

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Rick!
A testimony is when you receive a feeling, impression, and/or a thought from the spirit of God that something is true. When the spirit testifies that something is true it brings feelings of peace, calmness, comfort, and confidence. Show more Show less
