Hi I'm Myrta

I grew up in beautiful southern Utah. I have 9 children and almost 14 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 9 children - five girls and four boys. We have eleven grandchildren and three more on the way. My family is a great part of my life and I love each one. I enjoy taking nature hikes to gather treasures with the grandchildren, playing the piano, crocheting, camping, quilting and seeing new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was baptized when I was eight. I knew the church was true then and know that it is true now. Each time I have read the Book of Mormon I have received a witness that it is true! I have been so blessed because of the gospel and know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and loves each one of us. Jesus Christ sacrificed for each of us so that we can repent and live with him again. We all have trials in our lives, but there is such a peace in knowing that we have direction and are not alone. We can have hope and joy in this life as we live the gospel and turn to our Savior, who is our perfect example.  The gospel gives us the knowledge that we can be with our loved ones after this life. This gives me great comfort There is a living prophet on earth today who guides us and leads us and shows us how we should be living. Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. I feel his love for each of us. He teaches us to love each other, to take care of each other, to follow our Savior and keep the commandments.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in many areas in my church. I have worked in many capacities as a leader, a teacher, a chorister, a piano accompanist, and a member in our women's organization. I worked with the youthprogram and with the young children. I currently play the piano on Sundays for the children and love their sweet spirit. I love visiting with the women in my church, visiting in their homes and doing activities together. It helps us all feel a part of the community. We give help and receive help from each other. I also was involved with the Cub Scout program as den leader, council member, and Cubmaster. Five of our children have served missions in several parts of the world. This has been a great blessing in our lives.
