Hi I'm Chris

I develop websites. I play the trumpet. I race cars. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have 2 wonderful sons! I work as a web developer. I really enjoy music, playing the trumpet, and racing cars.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe this church is lead by Jesus Christ himself and has the rights and privileges to perform baptism, marriages, and other sacred ordinances in His name.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Primary teaching 4 year olds about Christ and His mission.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Chris
The term 'Mormon' comes from a man named Mormon who lived over a thousand years ago on the American continent. He compiled a book of writings from Prophets that lived on the American continent. He called his book the Book of Mormon. Since 'Mormon' is a lot easier to say than 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' it became a nickname. Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Chris
These are terms we use to describe areas of church members, kind of like a city, and a county. A ward is an area that includes about 300 members. In a place like California there may be one or two wards that cover a city. In Provo, Utah, a ward covers a few blocks. A branch is when there aren't enough members in an area to make up a full ward. A Stake is a larger area and consists of multiple wards/branches. There are probably 5-6 wards in a stake. Show more Show less
