Hi I'm Jen

I'm a bookworm studying to be a librarian. I'm a marathon runner. I love to smile, laugh, and play. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's in History and a minor in Spanish. I love to travel and learn. I studied in Spain for two months and I want to go back. I love to read anything, but especially history. Modern European History, especially World War II Era, is my favorite. I recently started a Masters in Library Science. I hope to become a subject librarian in the history section of an academic or research library. Someday I want to write a book. I am a bookworm. When I get into a book, I cannot put it down. I love to do active things like hike or play sports (even if I'm only okay). I am a runner. I just completed my first full marathon. I love half marathons but I may do another full someday. I love country music. I am the oldest in my family and I love my family more than anything. I love dogs, but not many other animals.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it makes me happy. All of my happiness in life comes from my Heavenly Father's blessings. I grew up as a Mormon but I also choose to continue in my beliefs because I know of its truthfulness. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that His gospel is on the earth again. I know that He wants all of His children to come unto Him. I know that He has blessed us with His word in the form of scriptures and through His modern day prophets. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's Church. He is the head of the church and all things are done in His name. He is my Savior. I am Mormon because it is the truth and it brings me comfort in the hardships of life. I am Mormon because I need to be. I need God and I need the truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith to the best of my ability. I am far from perfect but I participate actively in a ward. I attend all my meetings and I contribute tithing and offerings as a part of living my faith. I read my scriptures and pray daily in order to bring myself closer to God. I participate in the church's women's organization, as the president of the organization in my congregation. This allows me to serve the women around me. We help each other progress spiritually but we are also able to look out for each other's needs in other areas of life. We call one another sisters, and I truly love these women like my sisters. This is a great blessing of the Mormon faith, that support system of brothers and sisters in God.
