Hi I'm Erin

I'm a mother of 2. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 2. I love to read, especially light-hearted murder-mysteries. I also love making and listening to music. I have played the piano, guitar, french horn, and I also sing. I am very interested in health and exercise although I don't always live what I learn. I love art and studied photography for a while. I also like finding fun crafts to make on all the blogs out there. It makes me happy when I can make something that will brighten up my home. Besides all this, my children are my world. I have a 14 month old and a 2 month old; they are Irish twins and a handful, but I love they more than anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon faith. My parents were my examples of how to live. I never questioned it because everything I learned felt true. As I got older, I started to understand that living a religion based on my parents belief was not the way to live. I needed to get answers from the Lord on my own. I spent time in the scriptures and on my knees. My answer was clear when I got it and I knew that what my parents and teachers in church had taught me was true. I am so grateful to have my own testimony. The wonderful thing is that you never stop learning. As I learn more, my testimony is only strengthen. I know that if I gained answers through the scriptures and prayer then all my other questions can be answered the same way.

How I live my faith

Going to church, reading the scriptures, praying, serving others, and speaking kindly to and about others are just a few ways that I live my faith. Developing good habits in every area of your life will make you a better person, but if you develop Christlike attributes, you become Christlike. That, to me, is living my faith. I struggle to become more like the Savior by learning about him and trying to do what he has taught. I spend most of my time at home with my children and it is so important to me to teach them about the gospel. I also strive to make our home clean and safe and a peaceful place that we can come to get away from the rest of the world. The Savior taught to love God and love one another. These are the most important commandments according to Him. I try to remember these in everything I do.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We have been given a nickname, the Mormons, because we believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. The Bible and the Book of Mormon work together to testify of Jesus Christ. We believe both to be scripture and study them together to broaden our understanding of the Savior's teachings. Show more Show less
