Hi I'm Garth

My latest fortune cookie said "Happiness is an inside job, not an outsidejob"

About Me

Hey! I'm a missionary for the Church here in Las Vegas. I'm originally from Ohio, but have lived all over the U.S. I love living life to the fullest. My favorite things to do include gardening, learning spanish (and the culture that comes with it), laughing, reading, and learning about others by getting to know them. My family and God mean the world to me and I have been truly blessed. Thats me in a nut-shell :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I recognize how much happiness the teachings of the Church have brought to my life. I've tried living life my own way before, but have come to the conclusion that life without God isn't really living at all. When we recognize how involved He is in our lives, we have a desire to do good and be the best we can. By trying my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ, I'm able to avoid much of the sorrow and heart break that so many people in this world experience. Through the Church, I have closer bonds with my family, and most importantly, God.

How I live my faith

I have many many many blessings in my life. Even at moments where life's challenges seem overwhelming, our Heavenly Father has continued to bless me. Because of all the blessings and happiness God has given me in my life, I see it as my duty to try and bless the lives of others. Its through our knowledge and relationship with Him that brings us the most joy. Thats is how I live my faith-as a missionary for this Church-so I can help others in their search for a better relationship with God, peace, and ultimately, a happiness that never ends. I mean, hey, who wouldn't want that?

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Garth
The best way to know the truth about anything is to humble yourself before God and ask him through prayer. He hears us and will respond. After all, God knows everything, and he never lies. We can receive answers if we ask with faith, a sincere heart, and true intention. When we ask in this manner, God will show us the answers to whatever questions or doubts we may have-even including other questions or problems we have in life. Even when I'm facing major challenges in my life-where to go to school?, what should I study?, how can I overcome a problem in my family?, etc- is through prayer. I can personally testify that when we pray, God is ALWAYS there listening. He wants us to be happy, and he wants us to know the truth and have guidance in our lives :D Afterall, he is our loving Heavenly Father, and he knows and loves us. Show more Show less
