Hi I'm Nick

I like indie music and vintage clothing. Im always outside. Im a college student, but thats all on hold. Im a mormon missionary.

About Me

I may only be nineteen years old but I have lived a lifetime full of experiences. My father has been in prison for the majority of my life and my mother has now remarried four times before now finally finding her husband to stay. As a young child my parents partook of drugs and alcohol, they partied excessively and they had no interest in the Mormon Church or any church at all. When I was seven years old my father was taken out of my life leaving my mother alone with myself and three siblings. She then remembered her childhood years as a Mormon. She decided to take her Mormon friends advice and turn back to the church. We returned and were immediately welcomed and embraced with love. Although after our return things didn’t immediately get perfect and recovery was a slow process but after my family stayed with the church and spiritually grew I can now say I live in a very happy family do to the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the blessings of his restored gospel. Now I am in the middle of a college degree in Criminology which I plan to use to help me get into the FBI. Although I am very anxious to continue my degree I have decided to put my life on hold and serve the lord on a mission for two years. Afterwards I will continue my journey to being a Special Agent in the FBI and one day finding my eternal companion and starting a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

As a 15 year old boy I came to a realization. I took a step back and looked at my life. I was a total punk! I was participating in vandalism and trespassing and all these things and still attempted to call myself a Latter Day Saint. I realized that I needed to make a decision of what I am going to do with my life. The path I was heading down with the current friends I was with was just not going to cut it. I was spending far too much time running from the police. I decided at this time I needed to reconstruct my values. I was familiar with Mormonism it being the religion of my mother’s preference. I wasn’t however sure that it was as it claims to be, Christ’s Church once again established on the earth. The Book of Mormon being the keystone of this grand religion I picked it up and began to read. I read the introduction of this great book of scripture where it records, that to discover the divinity of this book a person must do three things. Read it, ponder it in their hearts and pray about it. I can testify that this is the course I chose I read the content and I considered its truths and doctrines and then finally I went to the Lord in prayer. No sooner did the words leave my mouth I received an answer. The Holy Ghost touched my heart and I immediately knew for myself that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another Testament of Jesus Christ to go hand and hand with The Bible. I knew that if this book is true then Jesus Christ is the savior of the world, Joseph Smith is his prophet in these last days and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords kingdom once again established on the earth today. So why am I a Mormon? It is the Lord’s church with a foundation of Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ being the Chief Cornerstone. I desired truth and I found it.

How I live my faith

I served in my ward as a Ward Missionary Leader, which prepared me for now. The best two years of my life so far. I am serving the lord on a mission. I spend all my waking hours teaching, preaching, baptizing, serving, and doing whatever I can to not only help peoples spiritual wellbeing but even there temporal needs. I teach and when I run out of people to teach. I go door to door and corner to corner to search out those that are ready to begin their pursuit to eternal happiness. I love those that I teach and desire to help them anyway I can. I know that through the restoration of the gospel by the power of God and the boy prophet Joseph Smith that a person truly can find there divine potential. When a person turns away from their past transgressions and seeks out after righteousness myself or one of the other 50,000+ missionaries around the world would like nothing more than to be there to help. Only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power of repentance and prayer is this possible.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Nick
The Missionaries will discuss the restoration of Christ's church on the earth. But more importantly they will answer any questions YOU have concerning Mormon beliefs, culture, history or anything else related to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They will come to your home to share with you what they know and serve you in anyway that they can. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Nick
Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He was raised of goodly parents who loved the Lord. He was taught to read the Bible and that it is the word of God. When he was fourteen years old. In his small town there where so many churches and so many different doctrines. One church claimed the truth while another taught different things and claimed the truth aswell. Joseph Smith was desirous to follow the savior and he truly was concerned with the welfare of his soul. He did not believe that a just God could be the Author of so much confusion that was in the realm of religion in his town. He decided that he did not know which church was the true church. He did however believe the Bible to be the word of God so he turned to it. He came across a verse in James chapeter 1 which says "If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him." Joseph Smith allowed this scripture to penetrate his heart and he heeded its command. He went out in the woods by his home and knelt down before God in prayer. He accounts that "I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head above the brightness of the sun which decended gradually until it fell upon me when the light rested upon me I saw two personages whose brightness and glory defy all description standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me calling me by name and said pinting to the other this is my beloved son hear him." Through Joseph Smith Christ's Church was restored. Show more Show less
