Hi I'm David

An Investment Coaching by day and a grandfather by night and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the 8th of 9 children. My Father was Jewish and my Mother was Mormon. I met my beautiful wife in college and we've been married for over 30 years. We have 4 children and 2 grandchild. I have been a financial advisor since 2002 after working as a computer network engineer for 17 years. I love the mountains of Colorado. One of my "bucket list" items is to summit all 58 fourteeners in Colorado.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to follow Christ the best I can. I have found no other church that teaches its members HOW to follow Christ. I have learned that being a "Christian" is more than just a theological belief, it's a way of life. These are troubled times and I want my children and grand-children to have the best chance of success. I have found that the LDS Church is the best way to provide direction for my family because their entire focus is on Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have learned to love being in the service of others. There are no paid ministry in my church so everyone must pitch in and help. I have worked with the young men ages 12-17 now for over 25 years teaching lessons, planning weekday activities and going on summer camps. I love home teaching and watching out for the families that I have been asked to shepheard over. I go into their homes every month and pray with them and teach them to be self reliant. I also have home teachers that do the same for me. We watch out for each other and it's like being a member of a large family. The Lord has done so much for me and my wife, the least I can do for Him is to help watch out for his sheep.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Bible teaches that no unclean thing can be in God's presence. It also teaches that we all sin, everyone of us. If I want to return and live with God, then I need some help because I am weak and I sin all the time. What Jesus Christ did for me was first, he lived a perfect life. He could have said, "Hey I did it, I get to go to heaven!" But instead, he turned around and looked upon all of us and said, "what about them?" Because of love, he took upon himself the penalty and suffered for all of our sins. This act gave me the chance to repent and be clean. He stands between me and God and says, in essence, "I have suffered for this one. This one has tried to keep the commandments and has fallen short, but I have made up the difference. I have helped make him clean, he is worthy to come with me into Your presence." And that is what the Atonement is to me. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Before Jesus was crusified, he chose twelve men to help in his ministry. He gave these men special authority to act on his behalf. That authority is called the Priesthood of God. The Bible in and of itself gives no man this Priesthood. In fact, the Bible says that no man can have this Priesthood unless he is called of God and he is ordained by someone who holds the same authority. After Jesus was crusified, the twelve (Apostles) where killed one-by-one so quickly that they never had the chance to ordain others to take their place. The Priesthood of God was lost from the earth and needed to be restored. Show more Show less
