Hi I'm Erin

I am a student who loves learning. I am Canadian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student majoring in Public Health. I love science and especially learning about the human body. I spend my Summers working in a national park and hiking. I am learning Spanish and hope to be fluent someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel whole when I am living in harmony with God's commandments. I love having a prophet who is a mouthpiece for God and who helps to guide me through this life. I testify that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ and that there is no joy equivalent to living it wholeheartedly.

How I live my faith

As a college student it is easy to turn inward and focus on only yourself. I find it refreshing to forget myself and truly help someone else. I work with Habitat for Humanity to organize student volunteers from my university to help build houses for local families in need. It is incredible for me to see the difference we can make in the community and in peoples lives.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Yes, Mormons believe that Men and Women are equal and that our Heavenly Father loves all his children equally. Women and men have different roles in God's plan but one role is no greater than the other in His eyes. Women have the responsibility to nurture—both in their own home and in other settings. Men have the responsibility to serve their families and others by using the priesthood that they hold. These two roles work together to form church and a home where the love of God can be felt and where gospel learning can take place. I love being a woman in this church and feel I have a very important role in doing the work of my Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
