Hi I'm Scott

I work in construction. I am a husband, father, and brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband/father with a wonderful wife and one daughter. I enjoy camping, rappelling/climbing, backpacking, and hiking. I have an undergraduate degree in business and I am going to back to school to get my MBA. I enjoy watching college football and follow my team closely during the season. As a student, I never missed a home game and traveled to many of the away games. I grew up in a household with 4 brothers, 1 sister, and two wonderful parents. I enjoy going to Walt Disney World with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but went because my parents said it was true. I had many opportunities where I felt the spirit confirmation but none that led me to the conviction I have today. After leaving for college, I decided that I needed to know for myself if Christ was the head of this church. The church always preaches that anyone can know if it is true by reading part of the Book of Mormon and then asking our Heavenly Father (through prayer) for this confirmation. I decided to test it out for myself. After reading part of the Book of Mormon I knelt on both knees and sincerely asked my Father in Heaven if that contained His words. I didn't receive a vision or any flash of lights in my room. What I did receive was a warmth that radiated inside my body that felt like it came from my soul. This warmth was the Holy Spirit touching me and confirming to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is in fact led by our loving Savior Jesus Christ. Since that time, I have had many experiences similar to this that have all helped me with important questions in my life.

How I live my faith

I live every day trying to be more like Christ. I have served as a scoutmaster and in other capacities with the Boy Scouts of America for many years.
