Hi I'm Dan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 28 years old, am married and have three children (the oldest is five). I have a bachelor's degree in Geology and work full-time as a field Paleontologist and Fossil Preparator. I'm also going to school full-time getting my master's degree online in Geographic Information Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon by choice. Though my parents raised me in the church, it was my choice to stay and be an active, participating member. Though life is not perfect or without trials, I know that by living according to the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ life is more enjoyable than it would be otherwise.

How I live my faith

Before I moved recently, I was in charge of the Sunday School in my ward (local congregation). It was often challenging, but I found the key for myself and the teachers was to always rely on the Holy Ghost because his role is to teach us of all things, testify of Jesus Christ, and guide us to all truth. Now in my new ward I teach a primary class (7-8 year old kids) and we find the same principles are true. In my personal life I strive to read the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, each morning. It sets a more spiritual tone for my day and helps me to not rely on the arm of flesh and the natural man as much. I also try to write in my personal journal each night recording memorable events of the day and especially spiritual experiences or impressions I have had. Combined with personal and family prayer morning and night these habits help me to keep a Christ-centered life.
