Hi I'm Dave

I'm a husband, father, Air Force experimental flight test officer, oil painter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I wouldn't trade lives with anyone. I married my high school sweetheart, earned a degree in Mechanical Engeneering, raised four beautiful, successful daughters, survived combat and get paid to do things and fly jets most people can only dream of. As an Air Force family we have had the opportunity to see nearly every part of the United States and many parts of the world. The one thread that runs through it all is that people everywhere are much more alike than they are different--they really are brothers and sisters. As an amateur artist, I try to capture our common links.

Why I am a Mormon

Faith in my Heavenly Father's plan that charts a course beyond the bounds of mortality serves to focus my life on what really matters. It gives me hope for a brighter future and courage to make the effort to improve myself every day.

How I live my faith

Service is voluntary--both in the military and in my church. Though my church service doesn't pay any of the bills, it has paid me well in happiness. I've worked with the boy scouts as Scoutmaster, taught young children and even served a couple of times as the leader of my local congregation. No matter how often we've moved (12 times in 23 years at last count) I almost immediately have a church-related service opportunity and a community of friends to serve. It may seem counterintuitive, but service to others is the antedote for self-pity.
