Hi I'm Maria

I live in the UK and am a rather very happy member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Let the good times roll!

About Me

Hi! My name's Maria, I'm 29 and am currently unemployed (boo) and could tell you about all the amazing jobs and career I had in the past, but it's a bit irrelevant now isn't it :-) Of course, I am actively looking to get back into what I do best which is working with children and young people. I write childrens stories but don't have the bottle to publish them...one day perhaps! I live with my friend, have a cat (we're not spinsters I promise) and both are active Mormons.

Why I am a Mormon

I am indeed a merry member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and have been since birth. Some may think that because of that I have lived in a box all my life and am naive, lacking in life experience, suppressed and restricted...I am anything but :-) There is nothing quite like knowing you are a daughter of God; who created, loves and cares for you; and has the most excellent eternal plans for you. That you are a sister to The Saviour, who not only died for you but continues to watch over, comfort and protect you to this very day. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ allows me to draw on His wisdom as opposed to simply my own; which is a blessing in it's self. I am so thankful to know there is a will far greater and wiser than my own and that that will is the will of God, who loves, protects and guides me...so long as I let Him. I have my own website that share's many of my personal experiences as a morman living the gospel of Jesus Christ in the crazy world today...check it out http://thelordsgarden.weebly.com/

How I live my faith

My faith is a way of life and not just something you do on a Sunday, I focus on trying to be like Christ in every way I can, I'm not perfect, but I do my best. You may have already read our 13 Articles of Faith on this website, written by the Prophet Joseph Smith in the 19th Century, I do my best to make article 13 my own personal manifesto. It reads: "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." Like I said, I may not be perfect, but I do my best, and that at the end of the day is what it's all about.
