Hi I'm Bethany

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Massachussetts and Utah. I love to watch movies with my husband and dogs and eat good food!

About Me

I live in Utah, and just work hard and play hard every day. I am married to my best friend for time and all eternity and we have two 4-legged babies. I like to read books, go to movies and be with my family. I also like to go on hikes and drives through the mountains. I grew up on the East Coast (go Red Sox!) and moved to Utah after my mother became a convert and married my step-dad. I never received a college degree as I have never had the desire to go to college because I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I have done many technical schools and have many skills, but the greatest joy I get out of life is helping, being with, and talking to people. My husband says my greatest skill is making people feel welcome and happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. My mother was a convert to the church and I was fortunate to have grown up most of my young childhood in the church. However, I wouldn't say I was "converted" until I was 18 years old when I made a personal decision to live my life in accordance with the gospel and the teachings of the prophets. I have discovered that I am happiest and have the most freedom when I follow what the Lord wants me to do. I love the Lord and want to return to be with Him someday and am grateful that he has laid out a plan for me to do so. I am a Mormon because I KNOW this church is true and because the Spirit is with me day to day and tells me so. How can I deny such a powerful truth?

How I live my faith

Living my faith is generally a deeply personal experience. You cannot measure the experiences you go through and how they shape and change you. I live my faith by turning to prayer, faith and scripture study when life gets hard. I live my faith by relieving the suffering of others and allowing others to relieve my suffering as well. I also live my faith by accepting church callings...we have taught varying ages of primary, sunday school classes and been in leadership positions. I believe living your faith requires you to sacrifice your time and what you want to do so the Lord can shape and mold you into what he knows you can become.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Nature is the biggest thing that tells me there is a God. There is a feeling I get when I sit at the top of a mountain on a warm summer night and see the stars above and the city lights below that tells me this earth was created for me. That I am here as a visitor to take care of myself, my family and all the creatures on it. This Earth is a gift from my Heavenly Father who loves me. Show more Show less
