Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church becouse I learned about Jesus' life, and His great love for me. How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Valeria
The Book of Mormon is different from the Bible becouse it provides aditional knowledges about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both complement each other. The Book of Mormon contains the promise that if you read it, you will know certainly that it's true, and that Jesus is the Christ. Joseph Smith obtained the golden plates with the aid of an angel of God, and he could translate it through the power of God. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Valeria
I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ when a friend invited me to an activity of the church, and there I met the missionaries. They told me about Jesus Christ and taught me about His commandments. Then I read the Book of Mormon and ask to God if it is true. He answer me and from that moment I knew that The Church is true.
