Hi I'm Jen

I have family that is forever! So can you!

About Me

I am 42! I have been married for 24 years. I am a mother of 9. 2 children have died; our first son was 8 hours old, and one of our 9 year old twins-she had chronic mylogenic leukemia and had two bone marrow transplants. She fought for three years before dying on Mother's Day, which happened to be on our 18th wedding anniversary. One daughter is married and expecting her first baby- that means I'm going to be a granny! One son is on a mission in the eastern United States. Another daughter is going on a mission soon. My youngest 4 children are still at home. We have moved 17 times with my husbands job. I love doing Family History!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the church and had a basic belief of the restored gospel I don't feel that I was a true convert until I was 21- when I read the Book of Mormon for myself with the purpose to gain a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ that's when I became spiritually born again. For me the promises of resurrection and families being still a unit together after death where and are the reasons that I am a Mormon. The death's of my two children have caused me to place all hope and faith on these promises. It is a thing more precious to me then material thing-the promise that I will be with my dear ones and hold them and still be their Mother. Shortly after the death of my daughter a close friend sent me a sweet card with some comforting pamphlets from her church. I was interested to see what she believed about death and I was very surprised! The pamphlet said that my daughter belonged to God. That she was his before she was mine and now He had brought her back home to be with him. That she was just given to me for this short time here on earth to take care of her for God. This thought that she wasn't my child any more that death broke our bond of mother and child broke my heart more! While I believe that we all belong to Heavenly Father-we are his children and He our father- I also believe that because of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and the sealing ordinances of the temple that my family is MINE forever too! I will never stop being her mother! It doesn't make sense to me that families are only temporary. I see my mother and father still need their parents for love and support, even though my grandparents have been dead a while now. I still need my two children who died. I'm not the same without them. I am a Mormon because it makes my family FoReVeR not 'until death do we part'.

How I live my faith

I help the members in my local church do genealogy. I write letters every month to ladies who aren't able to get to church-I check in on them. I obey the commandments. I go to church. I go to the temple. I pay one tenth of my money-tithing I remember that everything I have is actually Heavenly Father's so I look for those I can help and bless by giving of the things He has given me: time, talent, money, things. I try to be like Jesus Christ. I pray always.
