Hi I'm David Wood

I'm David. I am who I am. I'm also a Mormon. That's that.

About Me

I'm a man in motion. I love to be constantly learning. Whether it's book smarts or street smarts I want to learn. I fear being stagnant in life and being forgotten. I should have been born in the 1960's. I love the culture and music of that decade. All that funk and afrobeat. And classic rock and reggae. I can't live without it! I also love to play music. I try to keep it at just a hobby but it's really hard. I love to sing gospel songs and the bass lines of songs. Simon and Garfunkel described me best, "Looking for fun and feeling groovy."

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Christ. I'm not a Mormon because of anyone else. I found my testimony myself and have tested it multiple times. I've had hard times where I doubted it but I've overcome those and my testimony still stands strong. I am a Mormon because I believe in a divine and living God who is the father of my spirit. I believe in the same God as Abraham, Issac and Jacob. I am a Mormon because I believe in the same Being that Moses spoke too in a burning bush. I am a Mormon because I know that only through His, God our Heavenly Father's, true church can I receive eternal life and the ability to return to live with Him and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of what I believe. I live the values that I think God wants and I share my testimony with others. I try to share my beliefs with people, and telling them of the blessings that Christ has brought to me and what they can experience with His gospel in their lives. I live my faith by doing what Christ does: helping others the best that I can.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

David Wood
Even though it's called the Book of Mormon, it wasn't exactly written by Mormon. Mormon was another man who was called by God, like Joseph Smith, to ultimately help bring this book to the world. His task from God was to abridge the words of the prophets who taught his people. The actual words and messages that are in the Book of Mormon were written by old prophets on the American continents like Noah, Moses, and others in the Bible. They wrote what God told them to write and Mormon took all the separate records from them and compiled them into one book. Therefore, the Book of Mormon was written by multiple prophets of God, just like the Bible. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

David Wood
The truthfulness of the gospel. It's plain and simple as that. Missionaries are out there spreading a message that only needs a mouth to say it. It's true and that is what people are looking for in life. Plain and simple 100% truth. So why not enjoy the words of Christ? Let it into your life. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

David Wood
The true founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is right in the name. Jesus Christ. He established all the teachings and the organization during his brief but important mortal life. Joseph Smith was only a tool in His hands to bring back the church. It was taken from the world to be kept sacred and undefiled after Christ's apostles were killed. Joseph Smith was charged by got to restore His true church when the world was again ready to accept it. Show more Show less
