Hi I'm Michael

I go to school. I enjoy life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am serving a mission in North Florida. I'm waiting for a visa to go to Brazil to preach the gospel there. Before my mission I was just a normal guy. I went to school for a year at a university studying Biology and I'm going to be going back to that after my mission. It sounds pretty nerdy, but I think one of my favorite things to do is learn. I love learning about anything. As a result, I really do love school. Also, as a natural result of my love of learning, I adore reading. Really, I'm happy to read anything. I also love cooking. It's so fun to be creative and try new things, but best of all I get to eat my creations. Food is a wonderful thing. I love cars and all things associated with cars. I could spend hours reading car magazines and dreaming of owning some of these exotic machines. Really, I'm just a pretty normal guy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I just can't deny that it is true. My parents are Mormon and I was raised in the Church, but I definitely haven't continued going to church because of that. In fact, for a couple years I really didn't go to church. I just didn't think it was for me. After having some hard times, however, I started realizing that something was just missing in my life. That was the gospel. My prayers for help were absolutely answered and I am happy to do all the things that the Lord asks of me because I have been blessed so abundantly. While I couldn't honestly say that I understand everything - far from it in fact - I know the church is true. Everyday I think of new questions or new things that I don't quite understand about the gospel. Honestly, there are somethings that I have a hard time reconciling. There are questions I have that I just haven't been able to find an answer to. However, I know - I absolutely KNOW - that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that there is a man on the earth right now who is also a prophet. I've found that I can always fall back on this. When I have a question or I don't understand something I remind myself that I know that this is God's church and even if I don't get it now, I will eventually. Everyday I work on developing the faith to wait for my answers. It's really not a problem for me anymore because the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I try everyday to do the things the Lord wants me to do because that is how I can show Him that I am grateful. The biggest thing thus far I've done in my life to live my faith is serving a mission. It is such an amazing experience to talk to others about the gospel and try and help them to feel the same joy I do. Being able to devote all my time to the Lord brings blessings that I couldn't have even imagined existed before.
