Hi I'm Casey

I grew up in Western Oregon. I'm an outdoorsman, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 19 years old. I am a student at BYU-Idaho. I served a mission in Philadelphia Pennsylvania for two years amongst the African community. I'm still not sure what I want to do but I'm thinking about going into Chiropractic. I have a big family with three bros and three sisters and I'm the second youngest. I really like the outdoors and love to just be out in nature no matter what I'm doing.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I have been a part of the Mormon Church my entire life. My parents raised me in the Church. I guess in the beginning of my life I really depended on the faith of my parents to keep me going. Eventually there came a point in my life when I could no longer depend on my parents testimony but I had to know for myself why I wanted to be Mormon. I started doing simple things like reading my scriptures and most importantly praying to God. I came to know that the Mormon Church is the true church through a long slow process and I still continue to build my faith everyday by just doing the simple things. I have seen many blessings in my life from having the gospel in it. It has been the intramental key in keeping my family together and strong. Without it I don't know what would have happened to my family when the tough times hit us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best everyday to do the things that God wants me to do. I have served in the church as a teacher in sunday school classes and also I served a two year mission in the Philadelphia area. I try to always stand up for what is right in every situation. My favorite way of living my faith is just doing service for anyone who is in need. I love working hard and serving others brings me joy. When we serve others we are serving God.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like being a part of a big family. Everyone you meet at church is very friendly and they want to help you out. I love to go to church every sunday.  Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Casey
A huge blessing that comes from reading the scriptures is peace. One of my favorite scriptures says that as you read you will be filled with the Holy Ghost. 1Nephi112. The Spirit comes to us as we read and that gives us peace and comfort in our lives. That is something that everyone needs today. We can also recieve great strength to overcome temptation as we simply read every day and pray to God. It is such a simple thing to do but brings immense blessings.  Show more Show less
