Hi I'm Tim

I am a grateful husband and father of three. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite career is that of "dad." It is challenging but the rewards are nothing short of miraculous. I have held a number of different jobs that range from working in uranium mines and milking cows to my professional career as a Landscape Architect. My favorite memories are associated with family and time spent in the high desert valleys and mountains of the western United States; mostly camping and working with the Boy Scouts of America, hunting and fishing are optional.

Why I am a Mormon

I am descendant of Mormon pioneers. My ancestors crossed the plains; some having been driven out of Nauvoo Illinois and some as a call to gather in Zion came from Europe. However, having said that, my own conversion came as a result of the decision to serve a mission to Italy. While preparing to serve I came to the realization that I did not know for myself if the tenants I was going to be teaching were true. After a lot of reading and pondering I resolved to pray to God and ask. God answered my prayer. To this day more than twenty five years later I can still vividly remember the feelings of that night that He did. I was not aware of it at the time; the course of my life had been changed forever. I humbly thank God for that.

How I live my faith

My favorite and most rewarding callings in the church have been working with the young men in the ward (deacons) and home teaching. I actively participated as an assistant scout master for many years, attending camps and activities. Winter camp was always a challenge for me. I called the snow cave that the Scoutmaster and I built to sleep in one winter a "self constructed torture chamber." Nevertheless I wouldn't trade the experience for a bucket of gold.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Tim
Based on my experience I would say that one of the most joyful concepts of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the that of eternal marriage and eternal families. For me it has been a journey of discovery to get a glimpse of this concept. When I knelt across the alter from my sweetheart wife almost twenty years ago I had no idea that that it was just the beginning; that I would grow to love her more now than I did at that moment. Observing my children as they grow and develop has been pure joy, with occasional momentary frustrations. To know that my caring and trusted sweetheart and my children are sealed to me forever brings tremendous comfort amongst life's trails. We support each other, we love each other and we grow as a family together. I know in my mind and I feel it in my heart that it is the gospel of Jesus Christ that we all cherish in common that fortifies the bonds of love and friendship in our family. Now I am looking forward to that time when my children bring their own spouses within our family fold; more daughters and sons. I pray God that I may be blessed with the opportunity to cherish grandchildren and know that they are sealed within the family for eternity. Show more Show less
