Hi I'm Kayla

I'm a student, I love to be active, the beach is my home away from home. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a current student studying Exercise Physiology to become a Physical Therapist. I have always had a passion for caring for the body and mind, as well as teaching others how to care for themselves and helping them in their efforts. No better combination than Physical Therapy! I love working out, spending time with my family, singing (when no one else can hear me), I live to laugh and making others laugh. I enjoy all sports, watching and playing. I have been through some struggles in my life such as my family losing my brother back in 2000. My faith and my standards have been tested for sure, but if it was not for these trials, as well as the Gospel and my unfailing love and faith in my Heavenly Father and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I would not be where I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My parents are both converts from their 20s. They have been active and devoted in the Gospel ever since. They are amazing parents who taught my sister and I very well. They taught us the correct way to live our lives and if we chose to stray we had to suffer the consequences. In my early teenage years I being to surround myself with influences that were not uplifting and did not strengthen my testimony in any way. However, these were the friends and the choices I made and I knew I would have to suffer the consequences as my parents always taught. I felt lonely and began to feel the Light of Christ dim around me. I was not setting the example of the child of God I knew I was. I took myself out of the places the Holy Ghost could not dwell and turned to my Heavenly Father in humble prayer. I allowed the Atonement of Jesus Christ to consume my life. I was comforted with the love, the presence, and the concern my Father in Heaven had for me and for my life. I am a Mormon and continue to follow His gospel because I know without a shadow of doubt that it is true. The Gospel has worked and continues to work miracles in mine and my family's life. I know I can turn to the Lord at anytime for guidance, support, warmth, and care whenever I want and need to. I am thankful for the Book of Mormon, the keystone of our religion. There is so much to unfold and learn every time you open it if you have the desire to learn from it.

How I live my faith

The best medicine for me is serving others. I love to do the smallest things whether they go unnoticed or not. I also love to teach. My best friend from high school was baptized into the Church when she was 18 years old. It was such an amazing feeling to help her through this journey and see her grow. Since then, I was called to teach a class to the women of the Church while I was at school. It allowed me to learn more about myself, the wonderful women of the Church, and of course more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I strive to keep the standards of the Church such as modest dress and clean language.
