Hi I'm Bryce

I know the purpose of life, I'm trying to be like Jesus, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a nursing major, athlete, pianist, tennis player, helpless romantic, music fanatic, gamer, and missionary. I am the oldest of eight children. I am a great listener. I love to make others smile and feel good about themselves.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family with a lot of trials. As a young teenager my parents went through divorce. My Mom got remarried and we went through the process of combining families. There was literal chaos at home whenever the subject of God or relegion was brought up. Mixed opinions evolved to arguments, fist fights, and law enforcement. It negatively affected my schooling and social life. When I was 19 years old my biological Father passed away unexpectedly. I disliked life in general and didn't feel like anyone really cared about me. I wondered if I could ever be happy. I wondered if God even cared. The time came that I had to choose a direction for my life. I made a decision to seek out the answers to my questions by reading the scriptures. I read the entire Book of Mormon, and nearly the entire Docrine & Covenants when I came to a passage in Section 101:36-38, "Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full. Therefore, care not for the body neither the life of the body; but care for the soul, and for the life of the soul. And seek the face of the Lord always, that in patience ye may possess your souls, and ye shall have eternal life." When I read that, I felt a heavy burden lifed off of my shoulders. Peace and fulfillment came over me. I've learned that a fullness of joy can only come by following Jesus Christ. I know from experience, if I am patient, trust in the Lord, and keep His commandments, he will take me from the worst circumstances and place me in a world of blessings. God loves us more than we can comprehend. He has a better perspective than we do and gives us trials to learn and to grow. He created a Plan so that we can be happy for eternity. I feel peace and joy in my life every day. It is because of the gospel and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I am a witness that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I have a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven. He listens to my prayers, and guides me through His Spirit. He loves me and allows me to make my own choices. When I'm faced with a tough decision in life I can always ask myself, "What would Jesus do?" I know through personal experience that following Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments is the only way I can have lasting joy and happiness. When I fall short I can apply the Atonement, repent, and be healed of guilt and sadness. I have made sacred promises or covenants with God that enable me to recieve the greatest of life's blessings. Each Sunday I get to attend church, partake of the sacrament, and renew my covenants. I recommit myself to do everything I can to become more like Jesus Christ. It is extremely important to me to share the Restoration of the gospel and the Book of Mormon with everyone. If you had the greatest gift in the world, wouldn't you want to share it? I cannot look at life the same after serving a two year mission in Atlanta, GA. I realized that I have a life long responbility to strengthen, encourage, and uplift others through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
