Hi I'm Kirk!

I'm a physical therapy student, an SAT instructor, a father of two, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Kirk! I'm a college student studying to be a physical therapist and love life! The increasing lack of faith among college students surprises me--my faith helps my schooling so much! One of my big reasons for wanting to be a physical therapist is to be able to help heal people physically. Isn't that what the Savior did? Beyond that, however, I've noticed that through my own injuries, there are other spiritual/emotional ailments that come with being physically unwell. I hope to help people in all these ways as I help people return to full physical health. The great thing about my faith in Christ is that it magnifies all of the things I do in my life! It helps my schooling, my marriage, and everything I'm involved in!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, because it's what I feel God wants me to be! And not just me, but everyone! I'm confident that this is LITERALLY His church. I was raised a Mormon but came to the knowledge that this Church is true and right through sincere study of the Book of Mormon and prayer. That's really the only way for any of us to know what's true!

How I live my faith

My faith encourages me to seek to become a better person. I'm always working on a certain attribute such as patience, diligence, etc and find that doing so enriches my life. As I read in the Book of Mormon, listen to the counsel of the the current and past prophets, and look at the examples of others, I'm able to see ways I can improve and try to do so. These day to day parts of how I live my faith really affects and brightens everything else I'm doing in my life. In our Church, nearly everybody gives some kind of service to help it run. I'm currently working with the 14-15 year old boys on Sundays and Wednesdays by teaching lessons and trying to help them prepare to be missionaries. The Church's values give great strength and direction to teenagers and I'm just trying to help these boys recognize these blessings!

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

A Book of Mormon prophet taught that one of the purposes of life is to have joy! We trust that Christ's teachings will bring lasting happiness and so the Mormon lifestyle follows them! We focus on strengthening and providing for our families, giving service to others, improving ourselves and others, and enjoying the things around us. We live God's commandments and avoid things such as alcohol and tobacco, immoral actions/entertainment, and excessive living. Our lives center on and point us to Christ. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are places for members of the Church to go feel close to Heavenly Father. His Spirit and influence is very strong there. For this reason, many members of the Church go to seek answers to the prayers and questions they have. The temple is a place to give service. We are baptized and provide other opportunities for those who've died by doing these things in their behalf. Each and every time I go, I find myself leaving feeling happier, more at peace, and more prepared to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. Temples truly are a blessing from God on the earth.
