Hi I'm Jason

I am a enthusiast for building. I am a cake decorator, financial analyst, studding to be a data scientist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn, teach, and help others. Since I was little I had always been interested in learning new things. I read books, played piano, and designed. As I learned from each one of these, I would often then go and teach the things I learned to my little sister or friends. As I learned different skills, I was then able to apply them to helping others. When I was twelve years old, I was hired by an elderly lady in our community to plant and take care of a garden for her. I used the skills that I had learned in taking care of my families garden and flower beds to help raise her garden. I also really like to design. When I was 17 my sister got married and I was able to make her wedding cake. Since then I have made an innumerable amount of cakes. It is always a joy to help other people, and each time to do you learn something new. Most recently I have taken a job as a financial analyst. With such, I am blessed to study data science and to build data models to help other people access the data they need. In addition to this I love to sing, dance, ski, snowboard, play the piano, organ, and study Portuguese, Spanish, and French.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents already of the Mormon faith. As I grew up I continued to have questions whether or not it was true. I did know that I didn't want to live my whole life not knowing and so I prayed to know if it was true. The answer came, but it was after much study and much prayer. Through continuing to pray about the different doctrines of the Mormon faith, I have obtained a witness from God that this is His work on the earth. These answers from God make up what we call a testimony. As I have lived the principles of the restored gospel of Christ I continually receive assurance that I am on His path and am doing His will.

How I live my faith

I found great joy in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and had a great desire to share it with others. For this reason I decided to serve a mission. I served in the Florida Tallahassee Mission and the Brasil Brasilia Mission. I have found great joy and reassurance as I see people find out for themselves that God will answer their prayers and that God will tell everyone the same thing. As people start living the principles in the Gospel of Jesus Christ their lives, no matter how easy or tough, are enhanced and they find greater joy. I have seek each day to become better and to seek God's will in my life. He speaks and as we listen and obey His voice we gain confidence that our lives are in harmony with His will.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

In the Old Testament we learn that some of the greatest blessings come from covenants, or promises, between us and God. Noah covenanted with God that the earth would not be flooded again. Abraham covenanted with God to follow him and God covenanted to bless Abraham's descendants with the gospel, land, prosperity, and the priesthood (The authority to act in God's name using his power). Likewise- because we know God is the same yesterday, today and forever- we make sacred covenants with God to obey his commandments and in return he blesses us with blessings. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Baptism is a special covenant, a two way promise, between us and God. It is through baptism that we promise to keep, to obey, the commandments of God, and as we do this he promises us special blessings. We have the desire to allow all people to be able to have these blessings. This is the reason we do missionary work for those who are living, and baptisms for those who are dead. We know that we are all children of God and he desires for each one of us to receive these blessings and this ordinance, act or performance, allows them to be able to receive those blessings.
