Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

we have 12 apostles because the gospel of christ essentially never changes. The only exception is for when times change and new evils are introduced. But how do we know if these things are right or wrong? well because the prophets counsil us to choose the right and obstain from these things because they recieve revelation and inspiration from god as to what is good for us, and what is bad for us. Christs apostles are just important back in the time of christ as they are now. Men don't live forever in this existance so it is important that new apostles are called when others pass away. What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

the temple is a sacred place not only for worship, but to make very sacred covenants with god. Only members of the highest standards are allowed to enter, and it is there that the presence of god is the strongest. In the temple is where we are sealed to families forever, and do ordinances like baptism for the dead. Show more Show less
