Hi I'm Scott

I grew up in a small town. I love Sports. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm twenty years old, and live on the East Coast. I love playing sports and being active. I don't know where i'd be without my family, and those in the small town I grew up in, to help me be the man who I am today. I love working towards and accomplishing goals in my life so that I can become a better me, and help others to do the same. I plan to study Spors Psychology and have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon. Why? Because I have sat down and read the Book of Mormon. Not so I can 'say i've read it', or to just go with the flow with what I have grown up in. I read the Book of Mormon because I desired to learn more about Jesus Christ. As I read, I found myself understanding more about why I am here on Earth. I understood more about why Jesus Christ really did suffer for all mankind and what I can do to thank Him for that. I felt the Holy Spirit. Because of all this, I asked my Father in Heaven to confirm to me if the Book was true, and if Joseph Smith was truly the instrument in His hands to bring it to the world today. God answered my prayer, because he loves me. He told me it IS reality. It IS true! I know that if you also desire to believe and follow your Savior Jesus Christ, read from the Book of Mormon, and pray to your Father in Heaven, desiring to have your path directed by He who loves you most, you will receive an answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my Church. I currently am serving full-time for two years as a missionary trying to share the love of God, and Gospel of Jesus Christ to people on the East Coast. I have served as a Sunday School Teacher in a congregation of College Students. I have also served as a 'Home Teacher'. That means I get the opportunity to help two or three families who live in my community. I get to share with them messages about Jesus Christ, and help them with any projects (mowing lawns, painting, moving, etc.) they might need help to accomplish. Most of all, I live my faith by being an example to everyone around me as a dedicated desciple of Jesus Christ.

What is faith?

Scott
Faith is believing, then doing something about it. Faith is like the muscle of your arm, if you don't use it, you lose it. If we get backed up to our wall of faith, and we haven't built it up, we fall right over it. That's why we work it, build upon it, and then use it to support our position in anything! What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Scott
We get direction, advice, and feelings of love, comfort, and joy directly from our loving Heavenly Father. I'd say that is a pretty good gift. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Scott
Most definitely not! I have an older brother who didn't serve as a missionary, and guess what? He is still included in my life. I haven't disowned him or anything. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we look at it as a duty and a magnificent opportunity to serve people around the world, not just in our own community. My Dad served a mission in Norway in his youth, and a brother-in-law served in the Phillipines. All of it is volunteer, and all of it is worth it! Show more Show less
