Hi I'm Larry

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a convert to the church.

About Me

Hi there, I'm a convert to the church and right now my wife and I are serving a senior mission in the Florida. We have been at this for all of one week so we are still learning what to do. I do a lot of family history on the internet thru Family Search and Ancestry.com. Update on mission. We have two months left. We had a couple of conversion and some inactive members returned to chuch. Have met some great people and love them. Some are planning to come to Oregon. That will be great.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Morman because it makes me feel good inside and it is the only true church of our Heavenly Father. I know this church is true and that Jesus died for us and was resurrected so that we will be able to live with him. I know that the Book of Morman is another book of God, the same as the Bible. I know that God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet in this dispensation and that Thomas S. Monson is now the only living prophet in this day.

How I live my faith

Right now I am on a Mission, with my wife, in the Florida. We are here to serve the members of the church and anyone else that we can.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

As a convert to the church that was raised a Methodist, the first time I went to church was totally different. There is no Preacher as such instead people are asked to give talks and to teach from their experience. A Bishop conducts the meeting for about one hour and 15 minutes then you go to Sunday School for 45 minutes and then to Priesthood meeting. Yes, Visitors are welcome to the meetings and incouraged to attend. How else are you going to learn aabout the church. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

We baptize new members because you are starting new and being baptized means that you are being born again, fresh and new. You have to be baptised by some holding the proper authority. Why would Jesus say that he had to be baptized? You start out with a fresh board and hope you can keep it clean and you will as long as you follow our example Jesus Christ.  Show more Show less
