Hi I'm Sulinda

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I are the parents of 2 grown daughters which we adopted at birth. My favorite hobby is researching my family history. I spend my days teaching the class of gifted and talented third graders at our neighborhood Texas public school.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 21 years old. My parents raised me in the Catholic church. There were many things I was taught as a Catholic that didn't make sense to me. As I learned about the LDS church, I realized that my questions were answered and most importantly the answers made sense and felt right. Thirty-two years later I feel that joining the church was the best decision I have ever made. I understand where I came from and why I am here. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me as a daughter and has a hand in everything that happens in my life. I know the church is true!

How I live my faith

You can tell by my profile that family is extremely important to me. I spend much time researching my family history and finding my ancestors so I can take their names to the temple where we can be sealed as an eternal family unit. In addition, I teach Sunday school to the 10 year olds each week.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Sulinda
We believe that we all lived as spirits in Heaven before we came to Earth. The members of our family are those that were closest to us there. The family is a sacred unit to our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Sulinda
Temples are used to perform sacred ordinances that will allow us to return to Heaven and remain together as family units bound together with our ancestors as well as our posterity. Show more Show less

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Sulinda
Church is where we conduct our Sunday worship service and Sunday school. We hold weekday activities there as well for youth and adults. Everyone is welcome to join us there. The temple is a sacred place where worthy members of the church go to perform sacred ordinances that teach us about our Heavenly Father and seal our families together forever. Show more Show less
