Hi I'm James

I'm a Mormon, and life is GREAT!

About Me

I was born & reared in the Mississippi Delta (home of the blues) and did all the things country boys liked to do. All the sandlot sports, hunting, fishing, cars, and talking about girls. While raising my two children, I coached soccer and softball. Now I'm a scoutmaster of a Boy Scout troop, and enjoy cycling in my free time.

Why I am a Mormon

I always felt that something was missing from my life, and I knew that there was something important that I needed to do. After a particular rough time of trials in my life, a pair of missionaries came calling. I knew deep inside me from the things they taught me, that a relationship with my savior was what I was missing, and that Heavenly Father has blessings and gifts to give me, just as soon as I chose to follow Christ's example. The Holy Spirit also testified to me that this is the place that I need to be.

How I live my faith

Currently I am second councilor in the young men's presidency. What that translates to is that I help guide the young men (12-18) plan weekly wholesome group activities. Also, I teach a Sunday class with the 12 & 13 year old young men that focuses on being good citizens, faithful husbands, and righteous fathers. I am also the scoutmaster of our ward's (local church) Boy Scout Troop. I make an effort to daily read and study scripture and/or words from our church leaders. I have also recently joined the choir in singing praises to our Heavenly Father.
