Hi I'm Jon-Michael

I'm a Mormon from Southern California

About Me

I was raised in Southern California, and when i reached 19 I served a mission. I'm currently going to school but after I graduate i hope to teach institute or seminary for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, and for the first decade i was alive i lived with my mom and grandparents. Here they taught me the basics of the church and i loved going. I lost sight of what was important for a while but then i prayed one night to know for myself if the church was true, if the Book of Mormon was the word of God and if what i was doing in my life was of any importance. It didn't come right away, about 2 weeks past and i was coming home from a church activity. As my young mens leader was dropping me off at home, he gave me some advice and encouraged me to continue doing what was right. I honestly don't remember the exact words of what he said, but I remember what i felt. I instantly knew that I had received my answer to all three questions. After my new found knowledge i found it appropriate to serve a mission. Here i learned to teach the gospel, to serve with a Christ like love and i found the deeper meanings of the gospel which i could apply to my live and teach others about. In short, I know its true, I know Christ died for our sins and is the only way to return to live with God our heavenly father, and I know Joseph Smith, like our current prophet, is called of God.

How I live my faith

I do the best i can to emulate the Savior in my everyday life. I find it very rewarding when i do my home-teaching, here bonds are created, friendships developed and our testimony's polished. Strength for everyday life, Ive found, can be found from daily scripture study and prayer. As I study the scriptures daily the things i read and learn stay on my mind and help me live the way he would want me to, many times i have been faced with a situation and i was able to make the right choice because of my scripture study and prayer! Sundays are special I find a great way to focus on his gospel and rest from my week and it even allows me to be ready for the next week.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Through restored priesthood authority on the Earth, families can be sealed in Temples for time and all eternity. This means our children will always be our children, our parents will always be our parents. Heaven is the ultimate goal for Christianity, what would heaven be if you were without the ones you love most? This is true doctrine, families can be together forever, its our heavenly fathers plan.
