Hi I'm Kellie

I am an art educator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am about to graduate with a degree in Art Education. I grew up in Southern California, but want to live somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. The farthest I have been is Italy, where I lived for two months on an art and design study abroad. I enjoy interior design, singing, creating art, old houses, inside jokes, a good movie, being ridiculous and laughing. My dream is to one day open up my own art school for children and live in as many places as I can before I settle down. I believe in goodness of people and try to find joy every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and can't remember a time when I didn't have a testimony. There were no visions; just small moments of profound knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true and that this is God's church on the earth today. Although I always had a testimony, going to church as a teenager was as much for my parents as it was for me. When I moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, an accredited college owned and operated by the LDS church, I developed a deeper testimony of God's love for me and His children, the necessity of weekly church attendance and daily devotion to God through my actions and thoughts.

How I live my faith

I am currently the leader of our women's organization in my student ward on campus. Through this, I have been given stewardship over 80 women. Being partially responsible for their spiritual and temporal needs has given me a deeper love for humanity and brought me closer to God through my service. Some of the greatest blessings of living a Gospel-centered life are God's guidance in my life (through prayer, scripture study and personal revelation) and the sweet assurance that my shortcomings and sins can be redeemed through the repentance process. I am constantly learning what God wants me to accomplish in this life and the kind of person he wishes me to become. He has healed my heartaches, lovingly chastised me when I was wrong, and blessed me countless times. I know from the bottom of my heart that the LDS Church is God's church. He restored it on the earth today so that His children could live with him again. I have a testimony of eternal marriage and am blessed to have been born into an eternal family through temple ordinances. My greatest goal is to one day marry in the temple for time and all eternity to a spouse who loves God and honors his Priesthood. Coming closer to God has given me a greater purpose in this life. I know why I was sent to this earth and that I want to live with Him one day when I die. By striving to base my actions according to God's will, I have found joy in times of heartache and times of happiness.
