Hi I'm Annalee

I live in Washington, D.C. while my husband is in law school. I am an artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from Utah, now living in Washington, D.C. while my husband is in law school. I graduated in Art and English, and am now pursuing a Master's Degree in English Education. I am also always painting, and have an art business on the side. I love to read, travel, go thrifting, sew, cook, hang out with my husband, and try new restaurants. We love living in such a culturally vibrant city and can't get enough of all the festivals, museums, and events always happening here. We hope to start a family in a few years, and can't wait to be parents!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I couldn't get through this life without the knowledge that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. The gospel is everything to me because it is in every aspect of my life. When I wake up in the morning, to when I lay my head down at night, I know that I am being looked after by my Heavenly Father. I could not make important decisions in my life such as "who should I marry?," and "which college should I attend?" without the guidance of the holy spirit in my life. I love being a Mormon because I have the supreme example of my Savior, Jesus Christ to show me what to do in this life. I am able to get through hard times not just by myself, but with the blessing of having someone I can talk to who understands exactly what I am feeling and going through. I am a Mormon because I have modern-day leaders who guide me, and who know the state of our world today. It means so much to me to have a living prophet who still speaks with God and knows exactly what we as a people need. I love being able to turn to the Book of Mormon, and receive guidance to even the smallest questions in my life. I love reading from those pages, and knowing the truthfulness of them, and knowing that they are there for my profit and guidance. Essentially, I am a Mormon because I couldn't get through the highs, and inevitably the lows of this life without this amazing faith that guides me.

How I live my faith

It is wonderful to live in a city that is always open to discussion on religion and beliefs. There are many opportunities to share the gospel with co-workers, and fellow students. My husband and I are substitute primary teachers in our ward. We love sharing the gospel with children, and are always amazed at how knowledgeable they are. I also have the opportunity to visit some other sisters in my ward. I love visiting with them and learning about their lives. Women really need women to help them in life! I love going to church and learning from my peers and feeling the spirit there.
