Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a wife, mother, chef, know-it-all, lover of reading and stubborn as all get out. I volunteer for too much, but love being busy... it gives me an excuse to let the laundry back up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so happy to know of the Plan of Salvation, a principle and way of life taught in the Mormon religion. It brings me great joy to know where I came from, why I'm here and the potential I have as a daughter of God. I love this gospel. The Gift of the Holy Ghost I received as a result of my baptism has brought great peace in a tumultuous world.

How I live my faith

I am a seminary teacher. This means that I wake up at 4:00am every school day to teach many tired teenagers about the scriptures and the truths found within. I am in awe of these kids. They sacrifice precious sleep to participate in an optional program to help strengthen their testimonies. Little do they know, everyday those students are there, they strengthen mine.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Stephanie
Visitors are always welcome. You can come sit by me! Right hand side, fifth row back. If you can't find me, I guarantee you will find a friendly face and warm handshake. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Stephanie
Of course not! We know that we are all sons and daughters of a loving God. I love to help in my local community as much as possible. I find great joy in serving anyone that is willing to take it! Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Stephanie
Mormon women are strong! Some might feel that a Mormon woman is meant to be submissive to the point of servitude, that she is weak and ignorant. But I will say this now, there is a sense of strength that comes from choosing what you know to be right and sticking with it. With faith comes the desire to do much good in the world, and not in passiveness- but with boldness! I take great comfort in being surrounded by wonderful examples of what a woman should be. Men and women are different, but equal. We each have strengths and weaknesses. As a family, each member plays a crucial role to help it be strong. My husband and I help each other out. We support each other. We provide a united front to face the world together. And we do it side by side. Show more Show less
