Hi I'm Crystal

I'm a college graduate. I'm a returned missionary. I love to take naps. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently applying for graduate school where I hope to get my masters in English, either teaching or editing. I speak Spanish and am working on learning Portuguese. I love to read and write (obviously), I love to cook, dance, play volleyball and be with my friends. I especially love being with my family and playing with my nieces and nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

I could not be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints if I did not believe with all that I am that it is truly the Lord's church, restored to the earth. I know these things because I read, studied, pondered and prayed about the Book of Mormon. I know that anyone who truly wishes to come unto Christ and know the truth needs only to read the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ and pray to know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I love going to church. Many times I receive answers to my questions and problems while sitting in one of the classes. My favorite class is Relief Society, the organization for women 18 and older. In this class we study about the gospel, learn how to be better daughters of God and develop our divine natures. I just got back from serving a mission in Puerto Rico, so I don't currently have a calling/assignment at church right now, though I hope to have one soon.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe "that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do" (2 Nephi 25:23). In other words, if we strive with all our heart, might and strength to serve God and keep His commandments until the end of our lives, Christ's grace and mercy will make up where we fell short. What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We believe that our spirits go to a place we call the spirit world, which is rather like a waiting room. There we will still be us - so if we were miserable here, we'll be miserable there. If we were happy here, we'll be happy there. We believe that in the spirit world, the gospel will be preached and people will have the opportunity to learn about and accept Christ's gospel. What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father, that we are His spirit children, and that through following His divine plan, we can become like Him and return home to live with Him again someday. Show more Show less
