Hi I'm Brian

I was born and raised in Southern Utah. I love Musical Theater, being outdoors, travelling . . . and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved to be outdoors. I love mountain biking and road biking - I often go on 15 to 30 mile bike rides for recreation/leisure and fun. I love the feel of the wind in my face and being able to just relax in and enjoy Southern Utah's beautiful scenery. I also love to go out hiking and to be in nature and admiring all of God's wonderful creations. One of my great passions is music! Singing and listening - I love it all. I have been involved in choirs for quite a few years and have traveled to and toured different European countries with the Utah Ambassadors of Music in 2009. Music is something that keeps me going and something I'll be keeping an active part in my life. Another aspect of music that is very special to me is Musical Theater. Not only are you able to bring happiness to your audience, but you make and nurture close lifelong friends. I also love working with my hands. Anything that requires a "hands on" type of guy, I'm there! Woodworking especially! I love when a project you've been working on turns out better than you anticipated. It gives you a feeling of a great accomplishment. I also love to help out my family with home repairs, yardwork, etc. I hope that throughout my life I'll be able to use the talents and gifts that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with to bless the lives of those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Having been born into a family that belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have been taught from a very young age, by my wonderful parents and other mentors, the gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness. But there did come a time when I had to find for myself if what I had been taught was actually true. I have come to know for myself, through sincere study and prayer, that the Book of Mormon is true! The Holy Ghost has testified to me strongly, many times, that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored in its fullness to the earth through him. I know that my Savior lives and that he loves each and every one of us much more than you or I can comprehend. I have seen his love many times in my life through the blessings that he has given me from family and friends, to a confirmation of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Plan of Salvation, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

One way that I live my faith is by loving those around me. I have many friends and family that are very dear to my heart that I would do anything for. Although I am naturally fairly shy around those who I may not know all that well, if I see an opportunity to help I will do what I can to do so. I always try to think, "If I were in their shoes, how would I like to be treated/helped?" I have served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Montana Billings Mission. The time I spent in Montana and Wyoming I will never be able to forget. Especially the people I was able to meet and become dear friends with. During my experience(s) as a missionary, I know that if an individual has a sincere desire to know if what we believe as "Mormons" is true, whether it be The Book of Mormon, Temples, etc., I know that they will receive an answer to their prayers. Now having been home for just about two years, I am now teaching a Gospel Doctrine class during our church services on Sunday. I must say that I love teaching and being able to share my testimony to those who attend. It gives me an opportunity to teach what I know to be true and continue learning.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Brian
Sure do! Personally, I have studied (and will continue to do so) the Bible (both New and Old Testament) and I have loved it. Reading about Christ's earthly ministry and atonement has helped me develop a stronger testimony of my Savior. I have also loved learning about the history of the old world where certain events happened, who was there, why it happened, and what was the result of different decisions. For me it has been one of the most, if not the most, interesting and books that I have read and learned much from. But the most important reason that I have undertaken a study of the Bible, is to learn more fully of The Gospel of Jesus Christ and The Plan of Salvation. It has helped me understand more of why I'm here on this earth, how I can improve my life and my divine heritage and potential. I am so thankful that we have this record and it has helped me strengthen my belief in God and my Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
