Hi I'm Lois

I grew up in the Philippines. I'm a stay-home wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I was the fifth child and first girl in the family of 7 children. A few weeks after I turned 19, I flew to Hawaii to attend college there where I met my husband. I graduated and got my bachelor's degree two months after my husband and I got married. Since I graduated, I've been a stay-home wife. We welcomed our first child a few months after our first wedding anniversary. I love being a wife to my loving husband and a mother to our sweet little guy. I love hiking, photography, scrapbooking and making handmade cards.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts to the Church in their teenage years. My family were sealed in the Temple in the 1980's (perhaps in 1984) before I was born so my younger siblings and I were "born in the covenant." I grew up as a Mormon all my life. My parents raised us well in the Church. We never missed a single Sunday without going to Church, rain or shine. We always went to both ward and stake activities no matter what they are. My mother always took me with her whenever she visited wards or branches in our stake. Through her example and service to other people, I saw what it means to be a Mormon. I've gained a stronger testimony that this is His restored Church when I was in my teenage years. I was in one of my classes in school when one of my classmates asked our teacher where we've been and where we are going after this life. He answered he doesn't know and nobody knows. My non-member best friend who was sitting next to me looked at me as if she knew I knew what to say. I thought of the Plan of Salvation/Plan of Happiness. The prophets and apostles have shared this in their messages all my life. And right at that moment in class, I knew that I belong to Christ's restored Church here on earth. I've always felt His love and His forgiveness when I was struggling with my life. I continue being a Mormon because I know that this Church is true. Christ is the head of it and the prophet and His apostles are His mouthpiece. This is Christ's restored Church on earth.

How I live my faith

My previous "responsibilities" in our previous ward at Church was a teacher to the youth. Every Sunday I've prepared lessons to share with them that will help them in their lives. Preparing the lessons helped me grow and learn spiritually in my faith. Whenever there were ward activities, such as community services, I made it a point to attend and serve with our fellow members. I have recently been given a new "responsibility" (or calling) in our new ward at Church as a ward missionary. I know it will help me grow spiritually by helping out the missionaries in our ward in visiting members and meeting new people.
