Why I am a Mormon

The knowledge and understanding brought by the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness is why I'm a member of the church. Life can be tough. There are lots of so-called answers out there, but I have felt the witness of the Spirit of God whisper to me in an unmistakable way that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's church, his kingdom restored here on earth in these days. The leaders of the Church are prophets and apostles, just as in times of old, with the same authority and standing. I'm so grateful to have the Book of Mormon as a companion volume of scripture to the Holy Bible. Together, they have nurtured my testimony of the reality of Jesus Christ, of his divinity, life, and atonement that can enable us all to return to our loving Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm on of the Gospel Doctrine instructors. I love this assignment. There's usually always a service project that's going on as well! I've served in many different "callings" or areas, but I love teaching callings the best.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Jacob
Gaining a physical body is part of becoming more like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As spirits, we all lived with God before this earth life. We progressed there, but needed to have a physical body (and earth-life experience) to progress further than otherwise possible. This is in line with God's Plan of Happiness or Plan of Salvation.
