Hi I'm Tammy

I grew up in gorgeous Lake Tahoe. I am the mother of three teens, I work full time and I am going back to school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three incredibly fabulous teens. I work for Marriott, making reservations, and I am starting back to school for the first time in over 20 years. In whatever free time I can eek out I write. I also love to travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had questions about where we came from before being born on this earth. My young mind would not accept that this is it. My mother was Catholic and my father was Mormon. I grew up as a Catholic, but always wanted to know more. I was blessed to have 2 incredible parents who understood my thirst for knowledge and my desire to find the right church. While the rest of my family eventually converted to the Mormon church I took several more years....going from church to church not satisfied with what they taught. I left the Mormon church as the last church to investigate. I wanted to simply study everything before I made my own decision. Much against the feelings of my friends at the time they threatened to never speak to me again if I joined this church. Once I studied the gospel...I'd found it.Though my friends stuck to their decision and never spoke to me again I'd found my needle in a haystack and in the past 19 years, I've never once regretted my decision.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example to others. I teach my children, now teens, to love and respect others. I've been lucky enough to work with some of the most incredible youth in the world. I've watched them grow and now they are all off to college experiencing life on their own terms.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Tammy
Honestly, the only inequality I've ever encountered in this church is that we as women are cherished and our ability to conceive and bring forth life is something the men and leaders of our chuch consider sacred. My husband once watched me with our three children as they screamed and cried, being tired and hungry, and he remarked how amazing it was for me to stay so calm and how much it taught the children in patience and helped them to clm down as well. Though I work outside the home I truly beleive the work I do within the wall of my sre the rgeatest gift i can give. Besides, if you readin he Bible about Adam and Eve please really look at the words and notice Eve was given as a helpmeet to Adam, not a servant. Of course, I love to do nice things for my husband and children. it make sme happy. At the same time though, when I come home from a long day at work and my hubby and kids are making dinner and I'm told to put my feet up and relax while they finish...it's a good thing no inequality here my friends.
