Hi I'm Tara

I'm a wife. I'm a mother of 2 boys. I'm a soccer, football, and karate Mom. I'm a crafter and home decor enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern California in a family where my dad was Catholic and my mom was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon Church). I have 5 older brothers, the oldest four being step-brothers from my dad's previous marriage....and they always made life fun and interesting. After I graduated high school, I went to a Mormon college called BYU-Idaho in northeast Idaho. While there, I met my now husband. We have been married for ten years and have two amazing little boys, who are the joys and wildness of my life. We live in Arizona now and love spending time outdoors as a family, when it's not hot and participating in lots of activities including soccer, basketball, flag football, and karate. I love crafting, decorating by making my home look nice, and meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a family where my parents were different religions made life very interesting. My mom is a Mormon convert and my dad was Catholic. My father always thought we were weird and didn't understand us, but always supported my mom raising us Mormon and in all of our achievements within the Church. I always loved the Gospel and knew from a young age that it was true. I lived the Gospel, kept the commandments, read the Book of Mormon, and did my best to make right choices. As I did these things, I felt the Holy Ghost testifying to me that the Gospel is true. As I got older, trials and blessings came more frequently. But I always felt my Savior with me every step of the way. Now that I am married and have a family of my own, I teach my children the importance of Jesus Christ and His beautiful plan for each of us. We go to Church every Sunday to learn and feel the Spirit. We also continue that learning at home. Every thing we do and everything we are revolves around our Savior. Life is beautiful and He is real.

How I live my faith

I am daily striving to find ways to build my relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ. I do this by helping others in any way that I can, volunteering at my sons' school, working at a local food bank, and by being involved in Cub Scouts as a committee member. I am always willing to help a friend in need, even on short notice.; that might include babysitting, picking up a friend's kids from school, taking a meal to someone who just had a baby, supporting someone who has lost a loved one, and by smiling at others. Doing these things that seem so simple to us mean so much more to those we help and serve. I really love serving, as it reminds me of Jesus Christ and when He lived on the Earth. He spent His life serving those around Him. His example inspires me and makes me want to be better.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Tara
The Mormon lifestyle is one filled with joy and purpose. This life on Earth is meant to bring us happiness as well as learning. Some of the ways that we as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints do this is by reading and studying the scriptures, praying, and attending Church. Families are essential and are what bring us so much happiness and joy. In our families we work together and encourage each other to do and be our best. We also find happiness in serving others, whether internationally or locally. Our ultimate example, who is central to our religion, is Jesus Christ. He lived on the Earth and showed us how to be happy by keeping the commandments and by loving and serving our fellow men. We want to share the happiness with others and do this by serving, missionary work, and helping and contributing to society. The Mormon lifestyle is one of peace, joy, happiness, and love.
