Hi I'm Shaun Lorraine

I love writing, upholstering, and watching my kids do amazing things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to write. My husband and I started a newspaper once, which is still going strong, without us thankfully. I love being a mother - being there for my 5 kids at every stage of their life. We have 3 in college, 1 in Taiwan as a missionary, and 1 in high school. I love to research. My latest efforts have required that I learn to read some Hungarian. That has been exhilarating. My dad's dad is Hungarian, so I've been trying to discover more about his family. I love helping people connect with others or to information that will help enrich their lives. I love sharing what I know to be true with anyone who is interested in learning about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

My life is very good. I have health, a wonderful family, and daily experiences that bring me joy. I know that these are blessings from a loving Heavenly Father. I know that because I do my best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, I am able to enjoy these blessings, and avoid many pitfalls that cause sadness, sorrow and heartache.

How I live my faith

I try to read the words of the prophets every day...in the Bible, in the Book of Mormon, and the words of the living prophet and apostles that are on the internet. I remember hearing one apostle say, "We are His (the Savior's) hands." I try to be the Savior's hands by finding someone to help everyday. I pray to my Heavenly Father every day, multiple times. The combination of all these daily things provide protection for me, from the evil influences in this world that come over the computer and and other media sources. Doing these things help me be able to better hear when the Lord sends his holy spirit to speak to me or give me ideas on how to help my children, my husband, or people around me.
