Hi I'm Blake

I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I love sharing that with my family and the Boy Scouts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of 4, going on 5 kids. I love cycling, rafting, skiing, fly-fishing, and scouting. I enjoy a career in the building industry that stems from a degree in engineering and working construction as a youth.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon helps me fulfill the purpose of my life... preparing myself and family to return to live with our Heavenly Father. We have moved all over the country from the University of Notre Dame to California, Utah to Atlanta. The Mormon Church is consistent wherever we move and the people we meet at Church have become like family to us.

How I live my faith

Most importantly I try to be more like our Savior Jesus Christ. Even though I have a long way to go, following his example brings true meaning and happiness to my life. At Church I work with the Young Men between the ages of 12 and 18. Truthfully they impact my life more than I theirs. That's the beauty of service at Church.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

A parent shows mercy to a child when they stumble, but because the parent loves the child they also require that the child be accountable for their actions. Our Heavenly Father provides mercy through the sacrifice of his Son. Jesus Christ's grace allows our Father to extend mercy, but with that mercy our Father also requires we do our part to right our wrongs and strive to become more like Him. Show more Show less
