Hi I'm Kelsey

I'm a student, a musician, and a redhead. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. My family is everything to me. I am the oldest child in my family of 4 kids. I love running, being outdoors, volleyball, and soccer. I play two instruments and I'm learning to play a third. I'm going to school to be a teacher. I love life, my family, cooking, all kinds of music, and the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church, but like everyone else I had to learn for myself if this church is true. I'm a Mormon because I know that this is the Lord's church. I've felt the love of my Savior as I've repented of my own sins. I've read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. I know that it is true, and it is God's word. This gospel gives me the love and support I need in my life now, the tools I need to repent of past sins, and the hope and faith I need to continue to progress in the future.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do. Everyday I get the opportunity to share the gospel with everyone I see. I really try to be an example of the church in all that I do. I love the peace and true joy the gospel gives me. The fulfillment, satisfaction, and perspective I have because of the gospel truly is a blessing in my life, and that's not a cop out I really mean it.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Kelsey
Family is important to Mormons because that's where it all started. God is our loving Heavenly Father. We are his children. (Romans 8: 16-17) He sent us here to learn and grow, and he placed us in families to give us a strong center for that growth. Where all of us learn life lessons is in the family. My family is everything to me. I love them so much and am so grateful for the gospel and the opportunity I have to be with my family forever. Everything I am is because of my family, and I can't wait to start my own someday. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Kelsey
The reason why we don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol is because they are bad for you. Also more imortantly God has asked us not to. Personally I think that it would be very difficult to feel the spirit when under the influence of those substances. Anything that keeps you from being in control of your body is something that can prohibit you from feeling the spirit ( 1 Corinthians 3:16-17). The Word of Wisdom is the law of health that God has revealed to us concering what things are best to put in our bodies. It is not just a "don't do this or that" kind of thing, but it also tells us what to eat so that we can treat our bodies with respect by keeping them healthy. Basically, the Lord wants us to eat lots of vegetables, fruits, grains and meat sparingly and we are asked not to use tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, or any other illegal drugs. This is not a new thing, God has throughout time given council on what to eat and what not to eat (see Gen. 1:29 and Numbers 6:3-4). Show more Show less
