Hi I'm Whitney

I'm an artist. I'm an optimist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. It is one of the biggest parts of who I am. I am a leader in our youth organization and am privileged to work with the young women. I have been married to my sweetheart for nearly three years and we have a cute little puppy named Lizzy. I am a photographer by profession. I enjoy absolutely anything that allows me to create particularly: sewing, jewelry-making, sculpting, scrapbooking, and writing. If I’m not in my craft room making something, I’m probably daydreaming about what I’m going to create next.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because nothing brings me greater happiness and peace than the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful that I was married in the temple, and can be with my husband for eternity. Nothing means more to me than my family. Nothing. Knowing that these relationships can last forever, brings me inexpressible joy. I am grateful for a church that teaches me where I came from and what my purpose is here on earth. I am equally grateful to know that because of the sacrifice of my savior, I can return to live with my Father in Heaven. I am a mormon because I have asked for myself, and have gained a knowledge that these things are true. I know it.

How I live my faith

My faith is such a part of who I am, that it completely defines how I live my life. I love attending church. I love praying to a Heavenly Father who not only hears my prayers, but answers them. I love reading my scriptures and receiving insight and revelation for myself. On Monday, you will find me at home with my family. On Wednesday, you will find me at mutual with the youth. On Sunday, you will find me at church. Many Saturdays, you can find me at the temple. I live my faith minute by minute day by day. Every decision I make is affected by what I have been taught. I am far from perfect, but I would not be the person I am today without the gospel.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Whitney
Yes! That is some of the greatest news that the gospel of Jesus Christ provides. We can be with our families forever! While my husband was serving a mission, he lost his father to cancer. It was an incredibly difficult time for him, but the comfort and knowledge that he will see his father again is what got him through. I also have a dad who is in failing health. Imagine the comfort I feel knowing that one day, he will be healed. One day the sorrow and pain will be gone and we will be able to spend eternity together. I live for my family. I cannot imagine our relationship ending with our journey here on earth. Show more Show less
